Who You Are
As a Support Worker, you play a vital role in contributing to an effective Children’s Social Care Service, improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. You offer practical and social support to children, young people, and families. Recognizing and managing serious risks while promoting the welfare of these individuals is at the core of your responsibilities.
What the Job Involves
The role requires you to participate in assessment, care planning, and reviews with a child-centered approach. You undertake direct work with children and families, safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes in line with various plans. You'll supervise contact for looked-after children, assess risk levels, deliver protective services, and support children in making informed decisions. Additionally, you will promote children's and young people's wellbeing and resilience through an understanding of child development and identity.
