You are a compassionate leader with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children, young people, and their families. As a Consultant Social Worker, you will support the Team Manager in leading the social work team to deliver high-quality services that address need and lead to improved outcomes. You will carry an agreed workload of complex or specialist cases and provide essential support to social workers managing these caseloads.
What the Job Involves
This role involves ensuring the Council meets statutory safeguarding obligations by working within safeguarding frameworks, managing risks, and conducting critical risk assessments. You'll oversee a complex and varied caseload, apply social work theories, coordinate with internal and external colleagues, and engage in performance management and resource allocation. Additionally, you'll act as a role model, maintain professional development, and deputize for the Team Manager as required.
