Youth Engagement Worker

Who You Are

You are an integral member of the Prevention Team, committed to supporting children at risk of offending through assessment, planning, and targeted intervention. You are driven by a desire to divert these children from criminal and anti-social behavior, working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector partners in Knowsley to ensure the efficient use of resources and consistent application of policies and practices.

What the Job Involves

As a Youth Engagement Worker, you will:

• Establish effective partnerships with voluntary and statutory services to mitigate anti-social behavior.
• Conduct assessments of children and families referred to the Prevention Team.
• Manage and mitigate risk and safeguarding concerns in alignment with relevant policies.
• Oversee an individual caseload, executing interventions to deter anti-social behavior and offending.
• Share critical information with partners and participate in meetings.
• Engage with communities to address anti-social behavior perceptions and employ restorative practices.
• Deliver direct, one-on-one and group sessions designed to prevent re-offending.
• Support exit strategies for children transitioning out of prevention services.
• Guide children and families in sustaining access to a variety of activities and services.
• Maintain confidentiality, accurate records, and adhere to Health and Safety protocols.
