Who You Are
An experienced and qualified youth justice social worker or probation officer who is ready to take on a dynamic and impactful role. You are a practitioner who embraces both a Child First and Trauma Informed approach. You thrive in a multi-agency environment, as demonstrated by St Helens YJS's 'Good' rating in the latest HMPI Inspection. You are adaptable, capable of both independent and team work, and eager to contribute to the development and support of young people.
What the Job Involves
Working in a temporary 3-month role, you will manage a caseload of young people engaged in the service through our Prevention and Diversion pathways. You will complete assessments using the YJB Prevention and Diversion Assessment tool, identify unmet needs, and develop child-led plans aimed at helping young people move away from offending and reduce their risk of exploitation. The role also includes providing occasional court duty officer cover and covering office duties as needed. Opportunity for hybrid working is available.

- Experience in youth justice or probation work
