Role

Who You Are

As an Independent Reviewing Officer and Child Protection Officer, you are a skilled professional with substantial experience in children's social care, particularly in child protection and working with Looked After Children. You possess a recognized Social Work Qualification and are registered with Social Work England. You demonstrate strong commitment to safeguarding children's welfare and are capable of chairing and leading multi-agency meetings effectively. You are dedicated to quality assurance and have a firm grasp of the legal and regulatory frameworks guiding child protection services.

What the Job Involves

The role involves independently chairing Safeguarding Children Conferences, Looked After Children Reviews, and other relevant meetings in compliance with statutory requirements. You will produce and monitor child protection plans, ensure effective service delivery, co-ordinate investigations into allegations of abuse, and assure the quality of care plans. The job requires you to ensure the child's voice is central to decision-making, facilitate inter-agency collaboration, and challenge any deficits in social work practice. Additionally, you will provide support for staff development, contribute to management information analysis, and promote equal opportunities and non-discriminatory practices in all tasks.
