Job Description: Social Worker - Working Age Social Work Team
Who You Are
You are a dedicated and resilient individual with a strong interest in supporting adults aged 18 to 67 who have a Learning Disability, Physical Disability, or a Diagnosis of a Severe and Enduring Mental Health Need. Ideally, you have experience in or are ready to engage with statutory provisions under the Mental Health Act 1983. Your commitment to working in a fast-paced, complex environment and your ability to manage a diverse and challenging caseload make you an ideal candidate for this position.
What the Job Involves
As a Social Worker within the Working Age Social Work Team in St Helens, you will be responsible for carrying a complex caseload involving all client groups served by the team. Your duties will encompass undertaking investigations under safeguarding procedures, conducting assessments including those under the Care Act, and engaging in care planning and reviewing. Additionally, you will participate in substantial legal work and might be involved in the Council’s AMHP rota if qualified.
Skills
- Experience with Learning and Physical Disabilities
- Understanding of Severe and Enduring Mental Health Needs
- Experience with Mental Health Act 1983 provisions
- Ability to manage complex caseloads
- Proficiency in Safeguarding investigations
- Expertise in Care Act assessments
- Strong legal work skills
- AMHP qualification (preferred)
