Job Title: Legal Services Solicitor - Civil
Who You Are
You are a fully qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience. Your background includes handling complex legal matters in at least three relevant areas of law. With a strong sense of integrity and accountability, you prioritize service improvement and hold a commitment to professional standards. Your experience allows you to advise a variety of stakeholders and mentor junior members of staff. You have strong problem-solving abilities, communicate effectively, and can make important decisions independently.
What the Job Involves
Your role involves providing comprehensive legal services, advice, and documentation to members and officers of the Council and other clients. This includes managing a varied caseload autonomously, offering high-quality legal advice, drafting and negotiating complex legal documents, and acting as an advocate for the Council in court. You will also mentor less experienced colleagues, provide training and updates on legal developments, contribute to team development, and ensure the highest professional standards are maintained. Your work supports the evolving needs of the Council and contributes to the development of safe, strong, and prosperous communities.
Skills
