What the job involves
As a Team Manager at Wirral Council's Children's Care Services, you will lead a frontline children's social work team handling assessments, Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and care proceedings. You will be responsible for day-to-day team management, ensuring quality practice and performance, regular supervision, and support for social workers.
Your role involves close collaboration with senior managers and partner agencies, ensuring that children are at the center of decision-making. You will ensure workloads are managed efficiently, oversee and scrutinize practice, support the professional development of team members, and facilitate mentoring and coaching for new and aspiring team managers. You are expected to maintain high standards in service quality and budget management, alongside contributing to strategic objectives and service plans.
