Who You Are

You are an experienced social worker with a proven record of undertaking complex Care Act assessments and reviews. You have expertise in adult care within a multi-agency environment and are committed to the wellbeing and safeguarding of adults and children. Your role requires a balance between promoting independence and protecting individuals from harm.

What the Job Involves

• Carry a caseload, independently undertaking community care and safeguarding assessments for complex cases
• Ensure the safeguarding and duty of care of adults, children, families, and carers
• Provide expert opinion within the organisation and externally
• Balance needs and risks with rights and choices to promote positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate case notes and prepare reports for court proceedings
• Work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies
• Offer casework supervision and guidance to less experienced staff
• Participate in the recruitment, assessment, and support of prospective carers and adopters

Skills

• Social Work qualification; HCPC registered
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005)
• Strong assessment and interview skills
• Experience in statutory work, including safeguarding and court work
• Effective communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multi-agency team
• Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
• Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families
• Preparedness for face-to-face visits and out-of-hours work
