Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with a proven record of undertaking complex Care Act assessments and reviews. You have expertise in adult care within a multi-agency environment and are committed to the wellbeing and safeguarding of adults and children. Your role requires a balance between promoting independence and protecting individuals from harm.
What the Job Involves
- Carry a caseload, independently undertaking community care and safeguarding assessments for complex cases
- Ensure the safeguarding and duty of care of adults, children, families, and carers
- Provide expert opinion within the organisation and externally
- Balance needs and risks with rights and choices to promote positive outcomes
- Maintain accurate case notes and prepare reports for court proceedings
- Work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies
- Offer casework supervision and guidance to less experienced staff
- Participate in the recruitment, assessment, and support of prospective carers and adopters
Skills
- Social Work qualification; HCPC registered
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005)
- Strong assessment and interview skills
- Experience in statutory work, including safeguarding and court work
- Effective communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-agency team
- Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families
- Preparedness for face-to-face visits and out-of-hours work
